Barangay-based Institutions or BBIs refer to the Barangay Development Council (BDC), Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC), Barangay Peace and Order Committee (BPOC), Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC), Barangay Ecological Solid Waste Management Council (BESWMC), Barangay Physical Fitness and Sports Development Council (BPFSDC) or other barangay councils and /or committees created pursuant to national laws and other issuance.
How Created
Every BBI has its prescribed membership and identified roles, duties and functions. They are created most commonly through Executive Order (EO) issued by the Punong Barangay, or resolutions of the Sangguniang Barangay, or even both.
